RESEARCH INFORMATION SHEET, RATE SCHEDULE AND TERMS AGREEMENT

Background
I am a professional genealogist and have over 10 years of research experience. I am a regular speaker to community groups, genealogical societies and genealogical conferences. I am a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), National Genealogical Society (NGS), the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) and the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG).
DooleyNoted Enterprises is a professional family history research service (our Services) (hereafter "we", "our" or "us"). "You" or "your" means an adult client of our Services.

Scope of Research
You are requested to provide a complete research request to DooleyNoted Enterprises. A complete research request will include the family or individual to be studied and any previous research that has been conducted. We need to know the goal of your research.
We will first define your goals, (ensuring that both of us clearly understand what you want us to accomplish,) analyzing the issues, and developing a research plan. This can vary depending on the nature of your research project and the amount of previous research done. Simple tasks, such as performing a record search or evaluating a lineage, may take less time than developing a genealogy from the beginning. A research plan will be developed, outlining what we will do to find the information you want. We will then conduct the research, analyze the findings, and report them.
The timing and order of the research and selection of repositories to contact will be of my choosing. In some cases, microfilms or documents may have to be ordered from various repositories and the timing of the provision of these materials is at the discretion of the respective repository. I may in the course of this research, with your express permission in advance, contact other genealogists or language specialists for advice in their specialized area only

Results
A report will be provided in connection with all work. Reports will include both positive and negative results of research and will advise the client of all of the sources used. All facts will be fully documented or an explanation of the analysis conclusion will be provided. Suggestions for further research will be given. . Family group sheets, pedigree charts and maps may be included with these projects, as needed or requested for illustration purposes.

Guarantee or Warrantee
As professional genealogists we cannot guarantee that we will find the specific information you need. We will look at all known sources or only ones you specify. For example if a census taker missed your great-grandfather’s house, we will not be able to find his name in the census; or if the Archives are missing a Criminal Court Docket for period of 1866 in Baltimore County we will not be able to include it in our findings.

Other Services Available
In addition to client research, we are available for consultations, lectures and workshops. (We also scan, edit and prepare family photographs for use in a variety of publishing and presentation formats. We can assist in computerizing your genealogical materials.)

Research Fees
All work is charged at an hourly rate of $30. We ask that clients pay a retainer of six (6) hours research time before the work begins, though some research projects may take less or more than 6 hours. Work includes actual research, analysis of client information and research findings, travel time, computer data entry, chart preparations, report compilation, writing and review. Charges are also made for waiting time at repositories, correspondence (e-mail, phone, and postal mail) with the client, other specialists and repositories.
Prepayment for hourly research by check, money order or credit card (via PayPal) in United States funds is required. Upon completion, all hourly research costs will be deducted from the deposit. We will then work and bill against the retainer until it is spent. Then another retainer must be paid for the work continues. Please provide enough start-up money for the project.

Expenses
All out-of-pocket expenses are charged to the client. This includes copying fees (including my file copies), parking, repository research fees, microfilm rental fee, postage, etc. Local (Greater Seattle) mileage is not charged provided it is less than 30 miles round trip; out-of-town and mileage in excess of 30 miles is charged at the current IRS rate.
